Dorothy Amuah is a powerhouse entrepreneur, professional optician with over 25 years of experience, and a dedicated humanitarian. Holding a BSc in Business Administration and Marketing, she has built a remarkable portfolio spanning the optical, entertainment, and hospitality industries across two continents.
She grew up and studied in England before relocating to the United States, where she honed her craft and established several high-end optical boutiques — where function meets fashion. Today, Dorothy calls Accra, Ghana home, where she runs her optical practice, breast cancer foundation, and a thriving restaurant & events lounge.
The youngest of five children born to Col. George E. Amuah and Dorothy H. Amuah, she is also a proud mother to her two daughters, Natalie and Sophia. Whether in business or at home, Dorothy leads with grace, intention, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Base Dynasty has pivoted into a dynamic entertainment company specialising in bespoke event planning, hosting, artist booking, and on-ground event coordination — delivering unforgettable experiences with precision and style.
Established in 2019, Base Lounge is a sophisticated venue that doubles as a full-service events centre. From intimate private dinners to grand corporate galas, the space is known for its understated elegance and personalized experiences that keep guests coming back.

Humanitarian Work
Born from personal experience and powered by compassion, Dorothy’s Hope Foundation has been a lifeline for women across Ghana since 2014 — offering free screenings, education, and ongoing support to those affected by breast cancer.
Dorothy Amuah is a breast cancer survivor. That experience did not just change her life — it gave her a mission. In May 2014, she founded Dorothy’s Hope Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to preventing, caring for, and supporting breast cancer patients across Ghana and Africa.
Since its founding, Dorothy’s Hope Foundation has conducted annual outreaches in Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi, Ho, and many other communities. Its impact has been recognized nationally — the Foundation’s activities have been officially incorporated into the Ghanaian calendar. The Foundation is now expanding its reach internationally.

Dorothy is also an active member of the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, extending her advocacy well beyond Ghana’s borders.
The Foundation’s help centres provide dedicated units for Prosthesis, Nutrition, and Counselling — helping women reclaim their confidence, health, and sense of self throughout their cancer journey.
Dorothy believes that no woman should face breast cancer alone. Through education, early screening, and a strong sense of community, Dorothy’s Hope Foundation is working tirelessly to reduce the death rate of breast cancer — one life at a time.
